MOSAICS

The word mosaic is derived from the Arabic word "musáwak", meaning "adorned" or "decorated". Mosaics are an ancient painting technique, combining differently coloured and/or shaped parts (stones or pieces of broken glass, paper or fabrics), to create patterns or pictures.
